A blood test to diagnose concussion has become the “Holy Grail” of brain injury science.
A soon-to-be released paper from National Institutes of Health is expected to elevate a more scientific approach to diagnosing a concussion–more quickly than standard the standard clinical methods of today. This research raises hopes that eventually a blood test for concussion will be as objective as diagnosing high blood pressure or a heart attack. This paper will be published in the next few weeks in the journal Neurology.
